Director of Marketing (Strategy and Product Marketing)

Job Description

BEA Inc has an opening for a Director of Marketing. Joining a dynamic and growing international team you will be responsible for leading strategy development and product management for BEA Inc. (BEA Americas) to ensure the company continues to achieve growth in new and existing markets through organic development, partnerships or acquisition

As Director of Strategy and Product Marketing at BEA Inc., you will be responsible to:

  • Set the strategic vision for BEA Inc., working together with the President and management team. Responsible for developing and maintaining the company strategic plan.
  • Lead the product management team to define the product roadmap, understand market and customer needs, define new products, maintain existing products, and launch new products to market.
  • Provide market analysis and identify new potential markets for BEA products and services. Build collaborative relationships with potential industry, technology, or channel partners. Identify product, technology, or market gaps for BEA. Facilitate initial entrance into new markets through the PM team and in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Lead BEA Inc. Product Council meetings, and coordinate the process for new product introduction. Evaluate effectiveness of product development review (go/kill) process and documentation. Identify and introduce, working with the Director of Engineering, ways to streamline product development and product launch processes.
  • Participate in global product council meetings as a representative and advocate for BEA Inc. product development initiatives. Provide direct support for global projects to which BEA Americas serves as the project “Owner” working in close collaboration with the global BEA PM & Marketing teams in Europe or Asia. Communicate effectively and work closely with global corporate PM and CMO based in Belgium, and product management counterparts based in Belgium.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for product management team.
  • Lead BEA’s efforts to develop networked sensor solutions including offerings based on data and cloud connectivity. Support BEA’s efforts to drive digital projects in new or convergent markets, and quantify and identify the value proposition, market potential, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Evaluate and report on the ROI of BEA products and use this information to guide future development efforts as well as introduce new metrics or processes for improving efficiency and ROI. Champion and support a “fail fast” mentality coupled with rapid experimentation to quickly gain market feedback on new concepts.
  • Act as a cultural change agent, integrating innovative thinking into a broad range of discussions – product, process, marketing and organizational innovation


To perform this position successfully we require:

  • A Bachelor degree in marketing, business, technology, or relevant field of study. MBA preferred.
  • Strong track record of coaching employees to success and building successful teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic and operational plans and working with innovation in a practical manner
  • Creativity and enjoyment in working in a small entrepreneurial environment that is purpose and results driven
  • Self-motivated and natural leader who is able to lead a team to conceive and follow through on multiple projects and is comfortable working in a collaborative environment without significant management direction
